Our Board member Oskar Negt passed away in Hanover on 2 February 2024 at the age of 89. The German sociologist and social philosopher was regarded as an advisor to the 1968 movement in the Federal Republic of Germany. On Hanns Eisler’s 100th birthday, he gave a speech in Leipzig on “Fourteen ways to describe Eisler”. He and Eisler shared the “courage and stubbornness” described in the Frankfurter Rundschau. Our sympathy goes out to his family.
