Georg Nigl, Nicholas Ofczarek and Vladimir Jurowski in ‘Die letzten Tage der Menschlichkeit?’ (The Last Days of Humanity?) with songs based on texts by Karl Kraus and music by Gustav Mahler and Hanns Eisler on 26 October 2025 from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in the Grand Hall of the Vienna State Opera.
As part of Musica Nova, conducted by Steffen Schleiermacher, works by Hanns Eisler and Shasha Chen’s composition, written in Eisler’s birthplace in Leipzig, will be performed at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig on 15 October 2025. Finally, the Eisler Scholarship 2026 will be awarded and a composition by the scholarship holder will be performed.
A play developed by Milena Michalek based on the novella by Anna Seghers “Der Aufstand der Fischer von St. Barbara”. Eisler songs can be heard. Performances: 4.5., 6.6., 27.6.

Our Board member Oskar Negt passed away in Hanover on 2 February 2024 at the age of 89. Our sympathy goes out to his family.
